The trio’s second album "Thus Have I Heard", by Otohito Fuse (p), Riku Takahashi (b), and Kaito Nakamura (d), consists entirely of Fuse’s original compositions, as did their debut album "Isolated" (released March 2024). In this album, however, each piece is written with a stronger thematic focus, drawing inspiration from landscapes and religious concepts, and the continuity across the album is more consciously shaped. The title Thus Have I Heard is the English rendering of the phrase 「如是我聞」 that appears at the beginning of Chinese translations of Buddhist scriptures. It reflects the belief that every work is an expression of the world as seen by its creator, and the wish to cherish above all what was heard in that moment. Since late 2020, the trio has performed continuously, not only as a piano trio but also in various settings with different front-line players. The same members also form the rhythm section on Nakamura’s second album "Invisible Diary" (released March 2025). This album captures the ever-evolving sound of the trio as of May 2025. The album comes with a 20-page booklet featuring Fuse’s own essays (only in Japanese) on the title and compositions, accompanied by his own landscape photographs.
